R&D Tax Academy works with a small number of advisory firms and sister initiatives, listed on our partners page. We are open to two kinds of partnership with firms that share the standard set by researchcreditintegrity.org: referral partners, who point their clients and contacts to the academy's material, and training partners, who use the programs to train their own people or their clients' teams. This page says what each involves and how to enquire.
Referral partners
A referral partner recommends the academy's country guides, programs and templates to companies that are deciding whether to claim, preparing a claim or recovering from a review. In return we list the firm on the partners page, with a short description and a link, where it meets the criteria below.
- The firm prepares or reviews R&D claims in at least one of the seven countries and is willing to be named on the claims it prepares where the tax authority asks for it.
- Its engagement terms address what happens to the fee if a claim is reduced or repaid, and it is comfortable with its clients reading the independent guidance at knowyourfees.org.
- Its clients' technical staff review and approve narratives before filing.
Training partners
A training partner uses the programs as the backbone of training for its own staff, for a client's finance or technical team, or for a group claiming in several countries. The team training page describes the usual combinations. A training partnership is arranged case by case: tell us what the team needs and where it claims, and we will say what we can provide.
| Partnership | What the partner does | What the academy does |
|---|---|---|
| Referral | Recommends the academy's material to clients and contacts; keeps to the criteria above | Lists the firm on the partners page with a link; keeps the material it recommends current and sourced |
| Training | Uses the programs and country tracks to train its own or its clients' teams; tells us where they claim and what they need | Helps choose the combination of programs and tracks and keeps the material current and sourced |
What partnership does not change
- Content. Partners do not write, edit or approve the academy's pages, and no page is changed to favour a partner's services. Facts come from official sources and are checked the same way for everyone; see our approach.
- Independence on fees. The academy publishes no fee benchmarks of its own and points readers to knowyourfees.org, whatever a partner's fee model.
- Advice. The academy still gives no tax advice and prepares no claims. A partner's advice is the partner's own, under its own engagement terms.
- Claims about the academy. Partners may describe the academy as an educational resource they recommend; they may not describe its material as accredited, certified or endorsed by any authority, because it is not.
